Sebastian Faulks

... will be reading from and answering questions about his new novel, Human Traces, at 7pm at Waterstone's Piccadilly on Wednesday September 7th. This will be followed by a book signing.

  • What are the themes in his new novel? I've read Birdsong and loved that. Any other recommendations by Faulks?

  • If you enjoyed Birdsong then I'd recommend Charlotte Gray, which also deals with war and its effect on individual lives - and the book is MUCH better than the film. 'Human Traces', on the other hand, is about psychoanalysis, the story of 2 friends who embark on a worldwide journey in order to try to understand how the mind works. I haven't read it but the reviews indicate that it is pretty heavy going, with a lot of science thrown in. If you read it, let us know what you think!!

  • And if you missed the Radio 4 interview, you can always listen to it online.
